Mentoring / Workshop

Chloé Déchery is currently working as a Lecturer in Theater Studies at the University of Paris 8-Saint Denis and has been working as a guest lecturer and workshop leader in various drama and performance studies University departments, both in France (Nanterre Paris 10, IEP Lille ) and in the UK (Queen Mary University, Goldsmith University, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of East London) since 2006.

She often gives creative workshops in performance-making for artists and students alike.

For artists, she can provide workshops in developing solo and collaborative practices and performance material, which can be booked alongside a performance or separately. Solo and group exercises, creative writing, improvisation, ensemble work, movement-based work, physical tasks, discussion and feedback are devised and facilitated to help artists at any stage in their careers unlock their creative side and push themselves further. The work combines studio-based time with outdoor field trips, combining movement work, text, walks and visual work.

Chloé is open to other ways of collaborating with universities and institutions: residencies, presentations of performances alongside workshops, post-show talks and lecture-performances, developing and running new modules in collaboration with course leaders.
